One time I did two headbands! My headbands are usually old ones and pretty loose, so I've never had a problem with them being too tight, but if yours is--maybe try grabbing an older & more broken-in one. Love this idea!!!

I've always used the really thin headband but am definitely going to try it with the thicker one! I love how it starts curling right away, isn't that crazy? But I have a question, have u had any discomfort the next day from the elasticity of the headband? It didn't work at the time since my thin long hair disagreed with it but I have to try it again now that my hair is shorter. :).

I do it wet with curl creme like 4-5 hours before bed, Then run a low speed hair dryer over it before I sleep and then sleep 8 hours. It is also just at shoulder length so I struggled at first trying this, but then divided my hair into a top section and a bottom section and used a separate band for each.
